Is it bad for your car to run without the exhaust set up?
My friend and I disconnected my exhaust before the the Cat and it sounds really good but is this unhealthy and bad for the motor?
I reconnected it due to emissions and noise I was just curious because I havent heard of anybody running no exhaust.

So you have just the downpipe? I dont think its really bad for the motor...but you do need backpressure. So i would say if you took the catback off...and left DP and Cat you would be fine...but just DP i dunno about
It's not bad for the motor if you're tuned for it. Also, it's bad for the underside of your car. It might catch fire.
My race exahaust is open at the downpipe but it's pointed under the passenger side fender.

without proper tuning you will pop the motor!. why would you want to run like this anyway?.. have some respect for these cars and don't trash them. most of us work hard and are proud of our FD's and keep them in mint condition. when junk like this is on the road it brings down my value.

I did this just for fun to see what it would sound like when I installed my DP... It's way too loud to be driven! All I did was let it idle and then revved it a little... Not to mention there are a lot of backfires. I have a feeling it would be VERY unpleasant for you to drive without exhaust... If you like it loud, get an ECU and run a DP, MP, and a free flowing CB such as the Apex'i N1, HKS HiPower, GReddy Ti, etc....
You're hearing two things: 1) you'll blow your motor and 2) get tuned for it.
The problem is twofold when you go from a normal exhaust to a straight-thru or dump exhaust: First, your boost will increase. If you have the boost controller, fuel system, and tuning to support it, you can run at elevated boost. Second, your boost will not stay at a consistent level. On stock FDs, the stock wastegate will be overwhelmed and the boost will creep. So you need to address the wastegate as well.
If you can't put the exhaust back on immediately, just be damned sure to drive so that the boost never exceeds 10psi. Be very careful in 4th and 5th gear and while going uphill. Naturally you'll need a boost gauge to do this. If at any time you go above 11-12psi you're seriously risking blowing the motor.
