horror story: CRAPPY LUCK

sorry for the rant guys

I was all excited installing my new bosch 1680cc injectors and kgparts fuel rail, and getting a tune on saturday. and i sodered my wires and they were all ready to go, so i pull out the old injector spacer thing and it came out fine, i dropped in the first injector yay. I go to pull out the other one (the final thing i had to do before everything could be bolted down) and the top half comes out and the bottom half just drops into the LIM. So now i have to take tomamrow off work and try ot get that bitch out. Ah what shitty lucky. The motor has 1,200 miles on it. If anything happens i dont know what the hell im going to do. Seriously if i dont find each or the 3 prongs. Id have to pull out the engine and take apart the rear rotor only. what a pain. i hope i could fish it out. Wish me luck guys.

Geez ive had bad luck for so long, with the car alot of bad luck, and its not just the car, its other things too. so please dont tell me to just ditch the car, ive already been through too much to let it go. Accident, another accident uncle backing into me, 2 engines now, blown turbo, small fire (thank you fire extinguisher), being stolen. All of which paid for by myself to repair. Ive already gone way to far to turn back, im a true rotor head at heart, i have it now and im gonna keep it, cause if i ever sold it, id look back 3 months later and say WTF DID I DO THAT FOR, I JSUT THREW AWAY 3 YEARS OF HARD WORKING CHILDHOOD THAT I CUD NEVER GET BACK. i could never turn back now. im 19 btw

someone shine some light on this situation, after pulling off the lim, think ill have to go in further then that, see its not a simple bolt that i could use a magnet for, its the plastic stuff =/

I used a shop vac to fish a bolt out of there. Just cover the other holes with tape and the items will suck right out. Should work, worked for me, good luck.

The shop-vac trick DOES work. Just make sure your vac is empty and clean so you can inspect for the pieces. Snarf around in there as best you can, covering and uncovering different holes....it will almost certainly get them.

Good luck....you are definitely due some!

Shop Vac worked for my friend who did the same thing.

As for your bad FD luck your just 19, you have plenty of years to look foward to. Keep the faith, I am 40 and had just as much bad luck with my FD the first two years I had it. Four years into my project and its looking great. Dont forget these cars are 10 years old, and your going to be replacing a lot in the next few years. My point dont sell it, ever !

Yes!! The first time I ever tried the shopvac trick I forgot to empty/clean the cannister before I starting sucking on the engine. I had to dig throug dirt/doghair/sludge to find the piece that I was looking for. But sure enough, it was there (also found one of my wife's earrings. She'd been looking for that thing for a few months. Little did either of us know that I sucked it up during one of my previous cleaning excursions)! Moral of the story, the shop vac will definitely work, but take bajamans advice and clean out the vacuum prior to using it!!

Good luck!

PhatManBUD, you and my buddy have the same bad luck problems. At least you where able to put out the fire in your car his burnt to the gournd. His second rx7, has had some crazy **** happen to it. First of whitch a guy ran out in the road and he hit the person, doing about 50. It was rulled not his fault, no crosswalk, it was 10pm on a 3 lane road. The guy lived by the way. 3 days after he gets his car fixed a lady makes a U on a red light and he swarves to miss her spins out and curbs his car, busting 3 of his BBS rims. The list of **** goes on, and on, and on.

Crazy sex life - don't ask -

I've found that the wide painter's masking tape does a nice job of blocking off the LIM holes. I know that info is too late, but it's only by luck that I haven't dropped something in the LIM myself. Scary thing.

If the parts dropped are steel, a magnet "pen" should be able to fish them out.

When I was 16 everything that happened to the car was a major life crisis...It is kind of funny to read this rant...When you are 25 you start to settle. When you are 30, you've had enough bad news that things don't matter so much... When you are 35 you are looking for things to get you excited. I wonder what happens at 40?

When something falls off you check all your body parts before the car

i took off the lim and stuck my fingers into the poors, i managed to barely touch it with the tip of my fingers, it was sitting righto n top of the rotor. i managed to pinch one of the legs between my two fingers and i pulled it out and all 3 were still intact and so was the bottom piece, so it came out as a whole. THANK GOD! i feel so relieved, i went about installing the injectors and rail and everything else went pretty smoothly. It sux that a 2-3 hour project turned into a 1 day project. But i saved my motor!

Theres a good reason why im one of the young ones that could keep up with the FD, w.o the sponsorship of daddy!

ya just what i thought, so what you sell? Weed? no way to light to own a FD, crack? no oh wait i know what funds your car...........TYLENOL!!! ya thats right i said it, you are a back ally pharmisists. :P j/k man nice car, man 16 and a FD wow pretty sweet, when i was 16 i had my cmoputer that was it, now i'm not wasting my money, so i can buy myself a FD withen 1 1/2 years, oh i don't want to wait, then i need to save for "My Engine Idea" which has already been done and it would be a fairly similar to other projects on the site, but still none the less, it would be MINE!!!!. but ya, enjoy the car and if all else fails get a bigger hammer . parts can be replaced ego's cannot.

HAhahhaha...man that is so true. I remember when I was 17 and had my FC, EVERYTHING was a crisis. Even in the few years since, at 26, I find it interesting how it's like "oh crap, it looks like I got a coolant leak...oh well, better call the mechanic..." when before I would lose sleep over it and seek therapy.
