Horn retrofit (115+ dB)
So...there were past threads about a louder horn.
Some retrofitted a horn from a minivan (don't remember which one).
Well...how about retrofitting this?
http://gadget.brando.com.hk/prod_det...?prod_id=00451
It is a bike horn for a mere $12.
And is 115+ dB. LOUDER than a car horn.
It is as loud as a jet plane!
Heck it works w/ a standard 9 volt battery.
What do you guys think?

It is advertised for a 9V batery, and at 12 - 14.2 volts would most likely burn up quickly.
So the anser is a very obvious NO!
But you have my permission to do it anyway as it is your money that is being spent.

The van horn that I discovered is from a '90s Nissan Quest or Mercury Villager. Not necessarily crazy loud, but it's just a good sounding horn. Nice "honk", no "meep-meep".
My biggie with using the Quest horn was it's an OEM part. I've used aftermarket air horns in the past, and they haven't been that reliable. I wanted to put something on the car and have it go for a LONG time problem-free. Not to mention I got them for a few bucks at the pick-and-pull.

The Quest/Villager horns are direct drop in, just a little minor bending of the bracket. Bolt to car with 10mm bolt, plug the stock horn connector on, good to go.
There's a writeup or two about it, search for it. Easy and cheap upgrade.
