hope i am wrong.... odometer

I have been working own getting may seven tried worthy again for a number of years now. The other day I stated it up and as usual it has the black background with the orange digital read out of my mileage. Today I stated it up again and the odometer didn't show mileage and didn't have the black background instead the while digital piece looked a very light orange. Does this mean my digital odometer if fried? The battery is pottery low on power. And if it is fried does anyone's know If they can be repaired?

Search "odometer bulb" and you'll get a post from earlier this week.
Theorie posted some great pics on what to check for your situation.

I'd give you the link, but can't figure out how to do that.

1. bulb or
2. capacitor or
3. connection

Is this a joke? There have literally been 4-5 threads about speedo/odo problems in the last week, and if you search at least 40-50 threads come up in the archives.

People really don't even try to search (i.e. follow the rules) before posting new threads anymore... :\

so very sorry to inconvience you. at this point there are so many threads on here i dont think there is a reason for anyone ever to post on this forum ever again. unless its a classifieds ad or they discover a new element.

also as i mentioned i am on my smartphone and the mobil conversion of this forum is horrible to work with

I think people just get annoyed by new threads that "clutter" the forum. It's threads like these that become the "clutter" when people are actually trying to search, so posting new threads ends up making it harder for searching in the long run.

If you can't search the forum using the built in search function, you can also use google (which should work just fine on your smartphone).

e.g.

Google search for "site:rx7club.com odometer" (without quotes) and you'll see a number of threads about odometer issues.

By the way, yes, there is a lightbulb on the back of the gauge cluster that illuminates the odometer - I would check that first. Second, check the connections on the clips & cables to make sure they aren't corroded.
