Question Hood Struts for Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood?

I am going crazy trying to find hood struts that will work with my Seibon TS hood for my RX7 FD. Ones I get are either slightly too weak to hold it up, or WAY too strong and cause the hood to flex badly when closing.

Here is my hood

https://seiboncarbon.com/products/ts...azda-rx-7.html

If anyone can point me to proper hood struts for this hood, I would apprecaite it!

Have you looked into the JP3 one yet? They're a legitimate shop with nice products.

The prop. Better than any hood strut. Never wears out, weighs nothing, never fails, easy install, good enough for Mazda, wont make you go crazy. .

A lot of logic in keeping the rod…and this from someone who went with struts years back (on a stock hood) with not a little buyers regret.
If it’s flash you’re looking for Garage Alpha offers a titanium version.

This is the one I just recently got. Hood still falls down on it's own with these. Trying to contact them about it, no response.

This is what I have at the moment. Not the factory hood prop, but a separate one instead. Have to keep it in the car in case I need it.

Hi - Seibon hoods weigh the same if not more than OEM. That being the case, we can swap out the CF weighted hood struts to OEM weight. Not sure if you already contacted us, but we recently just chatted with someone about the same exact issue - perhaps that was you?

I have some sakebomb struts that are way too strong for my carbon hood (hood is cut so weaker then normal hood). If you want to trade lmk!

The JP3 product is a great solution, however I was unable to use them due to my aftermarket fenders. Great customer support.

I have a carbon hood, ran into the same problem. The new Sake Bomb Garage struts were too strong causing the hood to flex when trying to close it. I run one NRG strut and one Sakebomb Garage Strut to balance it out. Still holds the hood up well but easier to close

JP3 worked with me until it was figured out. I needed the OEM struts they provide to work with my Seibon hood. Highly recommend JP3!

I have a question. My RX-7 now has a V-mount with the intercooler on the upper part of the V (near the hood) and the bottom of the V is the radiator. So the radiator is horizontal and at the bottom of the car and air goes through the radiator and then underneath the car.
My car was damaged in a hailstorm and I've thought of replacing the hood with a Seibon hood. This would allow air from the intercooler to flow out of the engine compartment nicely. But wouldn't their be less pressure across the radiator if air can exit easily through the hood?
Thanks!
