Hood Squerters to Intercooler Squerters

When I bought the car the hood was minus the windshield squirters. So the other day I was thinking hey I can use them to spray water like a STi or Evo. Then I realized when I spray from the squirters the windshield wipers are going to move. Does anyone know how I can bypass that or am I better of leaving it alone? The pump still works, I tested that and it has water in it. Just wondered if i could pull a fuse or something?

if you pull the fuse, the wipers will never work...dangerous in the rain IMO.

find the wiring diagram and cut the momentary signal from the the wiper sprayer -> wiper motor

The pump only has two wires going to it.........

You can either use spade connectors or cut the harness & use the stock connector. You can figure out the polarity by hooking up a meter to the connector & cycle the washer. That way the motor turns the right direction.

locate a switched 12v source. Cig lighter works

Put a switch inbetween, you can use a spring loaded push button switch so when you go WOT the water will spray. Or just use a toggle switch.

The other thing with using these, is that the water droplets are too big and will just flood the intercooler, thus creating more heat. Been there, tried that.

You need to create as fine a spray as possible.

at the end of the day im not sure spraying the intercooler with a tiny bit of water is gonna drop its temprature that much,,,,if you like this idea why not just buy a chargecooler ( a water cooled intercooler)

It works to some extent, but not as well as water injection.

It was just an idea. I meen i can't use them on the windshild since there are no holes. But thanks for the imput, i'm going to try and figure something out i'll take pics and write up a little report. I also have bought some fine misters from home depot so the water being to big is not a problem. Thanks guys.

This forum is pretty incredible. You can find just about everything you want. I was just thinking about doing this. In fact I bought the tubing and a spray nozzle but thought I'd check the forum before I tried it. Anyway, I was wondering about using something with a lower vapor pressure than water...that isn't flammable that is. I need to check something like aqueous ammonia. When you mix ammonia and ice water you get a colder solution than ice water itself. However, you get more cooling from evaporation than just a cooler liquid. Yes, there are better ways to cool...like a bigger IC but this could potentially be a "poor man's" cooler.

I'm not sure if american FD's have this, but the Canadian FD's have headlight sprayers as well. You can use those as an FMIC spray as well.

How hard is it to drill two holes?

That's kinda what I was thinking Rynberg. Is it a CF hood or a stock hood?
