Hood pins or no hood pins?
Getting my car painted next week so I need to decide on hood pins or not. I am thinking about them because of function and in that respect there seems to be no question = good idea to keep hood from windshield.
But I am not sure if I like how they look. Maybe anodized black? (whole car will be black)

i have a cf one and don't have hood pins - it is vented so it doesn't have underhood pressure of a non-vented one. Think about it how many pounds of force could be pushing up when the hood has 4 vents (ks style)

Hood pins are a must. Yeah people have gone 180 w/o them but they could be wearing something out. And when that day comes and it does fly over your windsheild you will wish you had installed them. They don't look that bad and it could cost you alot if you don't use them. I had mine powdercoated black, didn't look ricey at all

i am all for the safety thing... (i'd use them)
but something to think about...
every time you pull those pins out, you run the risk of scratching your paint. trust me... it's going to happen!!

You need the hood pins. That is that. You can ask my friend. He thought he didnt' need hood pins. Then while he was doing his 1/4 mile run at the track it ripped off. flew over his car and then smashed on the track. They made him clean it up. He now has hood pins.

I vote for hood pins too. You may be able to drive 180 with out them, but you will never know for sure if your hood is going to fly off. Better to have them and not need to worry about it.

Yeah, I second the locking hood pin suggestion. I've seen ones that are very clean and low profile, no dangly bits on the outside, nothing to scratch the paint(any more than missed key inserts can on any lock).

Yes, well his "crazy @$$" better be careful because the reason you have hoodpins on a CF or FG hood is because the latch could rip or break right off causeing the hood to go to his windsheild. Not a smart move IMO. Be careful, hope it DOESN'T happen.
