Hood liner

Has anyone removed the liner on the inside of their hood? Any problems with heat damaging the paint? Mine is starting to show signs of deterioration so I'd just as soon remove it as try to find a replacement.

There have been some threads over the years that indicate you will definitely see paint damage from the high underhood temps, though if you have removed the pre-cat this significantly reduces that.
I would NOT remove it, or I would replace it if I had to remove it. Remember that hood is aluminum so...it transfers heat exceptionally well.
