Hood latch not available?
I need a new hood latch for my FD and I called Mazda to see if they had any and they say they don't produce them anymore?
Does anyone know where else I can go to purchase a hood latch or do I have to purchase them used?

Most LHD FD parts have probably been discontinued since 2005-06 since the law states parts must be made for 10 years. RHD parts are probably discontinued now or very soon as well. I'd say all FD specific parts are get it while you can.

Now I want to call ray to find out.... I'm especially interested in the Tan or Red... if mazda starts cutting their FD parts, those will be the first to go I'm sure

This is the main reason I've refurbished my entire FD over the years. I plan to take care of it so that I don't need to replace things like interior panels, windshield wiper cowls, trim pieces etc every again
Heaffy, IIRC red seatbelts arent available any more, havent been for a while.

You don't need a lot of new parts if you take care of the car. FDs interior are a bit fragile but poor quality stereo installers and dumb mods are to blame for more damaged and broken parts than anything else.
I did do that but then I realized I needed a room to sleep in. My room (the usable walking space) is literally more than half full of rx7 parts. I'd take a picture of it but it depresses me 
. I think it would literally be more convenient if I lived in an FD.

Just want to toss in again how much the lack of parts availability effects the prices of nice FD's. Looking at a car with a lot of parts that need replacing in the interior for sure is going to cause buyers to [ay up for really clean cars that don't need expensive parts. Add the cost of the parts and deinstall install costs and add that to the price of the car and the buyer will choose the one with the cheapest overall cost to get what he wants. Bad interiors either can't be returned to stock or will cost a fortune to return to stock and there's little demand for modified interiors...
