It was never raced but a lawyer in Florida bought the car as a status symbol. He bought a 959 to replace the car.
What he did with the 959 is anybody guess. The car had about 60K when I bought it for 18500.00. Nice guy he delivered it to me in Huntsville at no charge.

The purpose of the louvers is to get the hot air out from under the hood after the engine is turned off. I wanted an option where the 7 was not a easy bake oven but more of a hand warmer. It works very well. No attempt was made to change the operating temperature.
Yes the aluminum louvers are very easy to bend or mangle. Not sure what I will do if someone sticks a finger in my hood. Working on that.
Not sure what the story on the 959. Never spoke to the guy after I bought the car five years ago. However money must be easy in Florida if you are a lawyer

Nice job on the hood. You could have save yourself the time and simply removed the weather stripping along the top edge of the firewall. You will drop engine bay temperature by 10 degress. The best part is that it takes about two seconds to do and it will cost you zippy.
