Looks nice!
That, however, is usually a high-pressure area when you are moving. Have you done any tuft tests, etc., to see if it works?

Mazdaspeed IC
This is a stock hood to release heat when parked. No real effort was made to cool during driving as the air from the front appears to keep it cool. The vents on the LHS are over the turbos
Yes FDNEWBE is the man if you are looking to get hard to find parts. I just installed the Mazdaspeed sway bars as well. I am just getting over the bad experience with the Racing Beat bars. The RB bar almost put the car in a junkyard

Okay so questions that haven't been asked yet for what ever reason:
1) How'd you do it?
2) How much did it cost?
3) Have you noticed any change (datalog?)
4) Can we get some pix from different angles?

Sorry for the long delay getting back to you
The work was done at Heritage here in Huntsville Alabama. It is an OEM aluminum hood and the louvers were done by hand at Heritage. He cut the hood and hand formed the louvers. The cost was 600.00 for the body work and paint. The hood was a gift from Mazda America.
The reason to louver was to reduce the under hood temperature during cool down. I have not notice any change other than the fact that the temperature after cool down is about 60 degrees cooler. Yes I have the data log system with the commander.
I will post some more pictures tonight.
The intercooler came form FDnewbe. Is it better than anything else? Do not know. However there are no fitment issues just cost issues coming from Mazdaspeed.

Interesting setup, the louvers are pretty low key. I like the 2-tone paint scheme on the auto-exe bar. I'm curious, why was the hood a gift from Mazda?
To decrease my underhood temps, I just went with a single turbo and ceramic coated the entire engine bay exhaust system

Taking Pictures of a black hood is hell. All I can say is I tried. Dusted it down abit to reduce reflections. The louvers are sealed to prevent water getting into the the hood structure also to reduce the "ring" of louvered parts

I was actually getting a bit worried since I never heard back from ya after I mailed out the bushings (or you did reply, but I'm so behind on emails that I haven't gotten to it yet ) But alas, I'm glad everything went smoothly, and that I FINALLY get to see the beautiful FD the parts were going into. Very nice (not just overall, but the hood vents as well)
If I can be of any service in the future, please don't hesitate to let me know!
Thanks!

I will be posting the Mazdaspeed sway bar install and why I went that way> Also a person at Mazda America named George sent me the hood after looking up the VIN and me explaining why I wanted to chop on the OEM hood. I am trying to put the car back to stock condition as bought in Georgia in late 94. It was a North American Rally car before some of the parts walked away. It was never raced but a lawyer in Florida bought the car as a status symbol. He bought a 959 to replace the car.
What he did with the 959 is anybody guess. The car had about 60K when I bought it for 18500.00. Nice guy he delivered it to me in Huntsville at no charge.

It looks really good- one last question, how durable are the louvers themselves? There are some real idiots around here that can't keep their paws off of other peoples' stuff.
