Holy Sh*T!! Exhaust Gasket!

I just called Ray at Malloy Mazda, well they want 69$ for the turbo to downpipe gasket!! WTF!! He explain to me last month they were 30$ and they litteraly doubled (or more) in price. No idea why. Anyone know where I can get them any cheaper?? I know Malloy is the place for OEM but dam he doesnt even know why they jacked up the price. =/

I called a local dealership and they told me that the price for that gasket is over $100.00!!!!

best bet if you know someone at a machine shop make a bunch and save them or sell them directly to us or on ebay.

Call mazda to see what they are made of. also find out what the width should be.

I tried but i could find a machine shop to help me for a decent price.

I think you could probably reuse it depending on the condition but mine was missing an entire piece of it =/ thus I defenetly need a new one.

Has anyone got a few pics of it? I might have a friend who could fab some up for much cheaper than that, depending on the shape and material they're made of.

I got one I don't need. Came in the kit with all the turbo gaskets.

seems 40 bucks shipped would be a fair price?

That crap is made of 4 sheets of stainless steel pressed together, with a weld that is then finished smooth on the inside to make a nice little compression sandwich. Not defending, but a bit more work went into it than crimped aluminum over paper based cake, a la Mr. Gasket... Still, $100 is more than I paid a while back... Must be running out of them in the US?

Which one in this picture is it? I've got a friend who does **** like this and he says it's something he could do (and sell them inexpensively). He said the guide told him choice "I" in the pic. I told him I'd gauge interest in this (probably $30 as a guess for one of his.........that's MY guess on it). I'll get more info from him. Would people be interested in that?

EDIT-- oops, here's the pic.

i can make them, but i'll need one to make a dxf file from. if you take paypal i'll send you the 40 right now. this seems to be something i would be able to produce for even less than you were able to buy them last month.

wow, i must have taken a while to post that. marko's speaking of me. i could make solid copper, 304, 304l, 316, or 316l. solid stainless has worked out well in many applications, and i don't see why it wouldn't work out here.
