Holy flowage with ralph's lower!

The weather was nice this weekend and I have finished my Groundzero/Xcessive lower intake manifold installation.

I gasket matched the upper and the lower, as well as gasket-matched the lower at the motor, and did some extrude/hone through the upper part of the runners.

My car was perfectly tuned to 11.5:1 under boost before the intake.

Test Drive: Well, thank God I had the wideband in and was datalogging because when I hit boost, the air-fuel went into the mid 14's. I immediately lifted of course.

Installing this intake calls out for a complete retune, not just some touching up.

I do need to double check my fuel pressure as my Autometer fuel pressure gauge is out for repair. I am assuming at this point that fuel pressure is not an issue since I made no changes there.

The car runs real smooth. Like an electric motor.

Anyone else out there with the same results?

As I mentioned before, there is a considerable amount of "fitting" you must do if you have Aspec's GT40r kit. I did find out that there is a spacer on the market that allows for the turbo to be pulled away from the engine enought to make the intake work without the grinder party.

I have no boost leak issues with my modifications.

Interesting. Get that thing on a dyno and let's see some numbers!

What aspect does this manifold have that makes this happen? Settling down the motor during idle and rpm range would be great.

Did you have any dyno numbers before the LIM so that we'll be able to see the difference?

Cool! I'm picking up my LIM tomorow. I don't have time to install it...but hopefully it'll be in before the season opener for Woodburn dragstrip. (March 13). Let us know when you get that thing tuned in! CJ

I'll let you know how much of a fuel difference there is when my car is retuned for the GZ LIM, curious if I get the same results.

I do, but, the dyno numbers are before I fixed/changed a few other things.

My problem now is that I was running at 89% duty cycle at full RPM and boost before. Bottom line, I am proceeding with running two Supra pumps, one for each rail. I will use the stock return line for one of the feeds and the stock feed line for the other feed, then run an 8AN line back as the return. That'll get the fuel there. Then change out the injectors.

Maybe it's the even air flow that both rotors now get. Or maybe it's having the primary injectors in the runners. In this location I suspect that the fuel will atomize better creating a better burn during idle.

Oh yea, in the original thread it was said that this manifold was not recommended for "highway use". Why?

"Not for highway use" Is another way of saying "not emissions legal"

Not for at least another two weeks.

I have decided to sump my tank and do an external A1000 Aeromotive pump, etc.
