HKSA (ebay exhaust N1 style) vs. Rx7.com brand exhaust

I know this thread has come up before and everyone made fun of the HKSA exhaust on ebay but I have seen both in person and they are exactly the same unit. The sound the same and each one has all the exact markings. HKSA $250 with silencer vs. Rx7.com $439 + $40 for the silencer. Here is a link to the ebay one. I am not saying this is the best exhaust etc., I am just letting everyone know if you are going to buy the Rx7.com one save yourself some money.

You are right, 2 friends of mine or on a spening budget from their wives each one bought one of them and they came in the same day and we installed them. needless to say the guy who bought the more expensive one is a little upset.

haha your mate would be burning!! money for nothing.

With that exhaust, whats it matter. there are no major bends, no cat, just pipe, no "special" engineering can make that flow any better..

so you are saying you can assure me that they are packed with fiberglass wool? I know if I spent $500 from rx7.com on an exhaust and it only last a year I would be pissed. could it be that it just might be a good deal on ebay.

Again, I am not saying it is the best thing since sliced bread, but I have seen it, heard it and fit and finish is good. could it just be that there is a cheaper alternitive in the RX-7 world that might be a decent product. Some of you guys act like you are driving $100,000 cars and everything has to be expensive to be good. I love the Rx-7 just as much as any of you, but we are not driving new 911 turbos and not everyone wants to spend $1200 on a titanium exhaust that they will want to replace in 2 years when something better comes out.

also condsidering that myself and my friends only drive our cars 1500-2000 miles a year I think it will last alot longer than a year.

I am not trying to talk the exhaust down.. but i am trying to inform people before they buy it... It is a less expensive product, because it is made less expensive..

If you really want a new muffler for cheap, buy an Apexi N1 universal for ~200 and have it welded on... It will cost ~$40 for most exhaust shops to do it for you...

FWIW I have been running a Brullen straight through for a few years. It has fiberglass packing and hasn't burned out yet.

The HKSA exhaust is the same one as the Rx7.com one. I have the exhaust along with the midpipe. Excellent fit and finish. But hey if you want to spend $200 more on the exhaust go for it, but you will be pissed off. Trust me.

Well I have no cats in my exhaust so when the wastegate opens, the guy next to you will sure know. Its seems a little louder than my buddies HKS but then he still has his main cat. Hopefully this helps.

It diverts the exhaust gases to the secondary turbo. The faster it opens the bigger the boost spike is. When you port the waste gate you make the hole bigger therefore lessening the boost spike/boost creep.

In some exhaust things they do.. But usually in there exhaust components for RX-7s they use stainless Steel wool...

Rotary exhaust temps are MUCH higher then a piston engine.
