HKS Twin Power HYPE!!!
Definitely go with Jacob's Rotary pro pak or something similar from Jacob's (rx7.com). My friends and I have experimented with MSD, AEM, HKS, and Jacobs. AEM, MSD and HKS seem to provide some "eh" gains, but the Jacob's seemed to provide a better spark. One (or more) of their capacative discharge paks give a more powerful spark throughout the entire rpm range, no multistriking. From vague memory, the other 3 have a combination of both. I know that the MSD provides multistrike below 3000-3500 rpms, and then provides a more powerful spark above those rpms. I think AEM and HKS are mostly just hype (and expensive) and are better suited for piston engines----->of which I prefer MSD anyway.
All in all............I hate multistrike discharge for multiple reasons that I will not get into. In my opinion, atleast take a look at their products and decide for yourself. The prices are quite friendly

So far we have had good luck with the redesigned AEM ignitions. No problems so far.

hey, share the reasons.
if you know something about milti- that i don't, i'd be interested in learning.
i've currently got the jacobs fc1000 in my half-bridged fc and it's doing great.

Twinpower worked well for me. 15 minute install and noticeable immediately. Knocked my times down a bit, I think it was two or three tenths from one week to the next. Some people claim it did nothing for the car but it did with mine.
Good product & sure is an easy install.

Does anybody know anything about XS Engineering's Power Pack Ignition unit? I saw that come out this past summer and I'm tempted by the price to try it out. I'd assume its not a coil-frier since XS makes it. Anybody have one of these yet?

We have installed around 5 of the XS units and they work well. No ignition breakup or coil frying.

Seems that we all have mixed reviews...I`m a lover of MSD. However, I have been avised that the MSD on this FD application requires an FC coil because the FD`s coil has a tendency to burn out due to the amplification of the spark. On the other hand, the HKS twin power has a less duration on the installation and is also seem to be a reliable product.
Nevertheless, I have read from a forum member notations, while dynoing their car @ Pettit Racing "(10-12 Rwhp) decrease of power was found when used on the dyno" and after they uninstalled it the power gain was present.
Could someone reply!

I think all of you missunderstand the ignition break up and the stock ignition. if you do some research you'll find hard evidence that the stock ignition system ten years old and all is ABSOLUTELY FINE. it does depend on how modified your car is and how hard its driven. but what people call ignition break up is almost always a bad ground a bad plug or a bad tune. efficiency is increased with a new ignition but only if you have all the other elements taken care of. i would not even consider spending money on an ignition unless i was pushing over 400 horses.
just my two cents peeps.
