one of my friend sell me a used hks clutch real cheap ... the only bad thing is , it need new plates

so i ordered some on rhdjapan but i saw a little push rod for the clutch kit ... do i need this rod , what that thing do ., its B/O until october so if i dont need this i wont wait 2 month maybe more ...
