HKS twin intake review..

so ive just intalled my twin intake from HKS and i thought there is potential benefit if i shared.

first of all removing the stock airbox is easy as long as you have a reasonable socket extenstion, and a pair of grips(for the hose clamps.

aside from that fitting was easy although it leaves the air pump hose and another hose free. first drive..

not as much brap as i expected but my stock bov now sounds like habib from the kebab shops wrx. really loud under throttle.

the air pump will need disconnecting as it makes a pelican noise at low revs but aside from that sounds good!

verdict?

spend extra and get full aluminium pipes for more resonance if sound is your thing.
but id definitely do this before buying some gay BOV.

questions are welcome!

To be honest mate not really it's completely stock apart from this so with an exhaust it would really benefit

I made too many changes @ one time with my first fd to know if the intakes made a difference. Though I did like the sound of the bov once it was taken out of the stock air box.

are you talking about that spongy yellow day glow filter from the old days?
it's not really a good setup for the stock system
you are sucking in air from the radiator
a cold air system would be better

Water injection would trump it all though and is a better final solution.
