hks turbo timer problem??

just installed my hks turbo timer type 0, i used the harness, downloaded the manual, and i cant seem to get it to work. it just shuts off when i turn the ignition off. it has 12v on 2 of the wires when the ignition is off. changed to all modes , nothing worked. only thing i can think of is that it is broken. anyone with this turbo timer that can help me out.. thanks in advance.

yeah you need to set the countdown time on it or it will just shutoff by default and if that dosn't work double check your wiring.

Yeah, make sure there is some time on the countdown, and make sure that the parking brake is set and that your foot is off the clutch before you turn off the car.

Be sure the purple wire is grounded or connected to your praking brake.

You didn't connect the parking brake wire correctly. You might have connected it to the wrong wire/color.

He said he didn't connect the purple wire at all. I never had directions for this turbo timer ... just the wiring diagram. I know from testing this unit that you have to connect the parking brake wire in order to get it to work. If you want the safety ... recommended, then connect to the parking brake, else just to GND. In the mean time you can test the unit just by connecting the wire to GND to test the unit.

The auto functions of the turbo timer will need the orange tach wire to operate. Probably useless, but none the less you can make your own decision.

Run a wire over to the parking brake from your TT. Either T-tap it in place or use a butt connector. There is only one wire on the parking brake and that is it.

you can either wire it to the parking break, or just wire it to any other ground. the parking break ground is nice, if you dont want to use the turbo timer, you can just let the parking break down, and the car will shut off.

btw, how long do you set your timer for?
