Stock up on replacement filters cause sometimes they can be hard to find. Oh and keep them oiled. I have the HKS Super Megaflow which uses the same filters.

I strongly recommend getting rid of that air hose and sealing the hole in the stock IC ducting instead. You are significantly reducing the airflow the stock IC by doing what you have now.

I recently got a 200mm wine red filter element from CorkSport. They're real good guys. I think the size of those green ones are 150mm not 200mm cause mine seems a LOT bigger than that.

+1 . vented passenger head light cover works pretty well for fresh filter air. the duct would work better if u cover the top hole. more efficient IC will give you colder air to your engine.

also, like all other filters, you need to add filter oil to have the mushrooms work efficiently.

i love the HKS RS setup. good choice. looks great

rx7italy,

Did you oil the filters prior to installation?

They are going to suck in a lot of hot air regardless, it's an open intake. It's better to make your IC as efficient as possible, especially the stocker.

these filters are famous of breaking up after some time...
when the large chunk breaks up.. there goes your turbine... the fin will be totally jammed by the chunk of foam...

bad times... the filter was not properly secured.... and the air suction from ur turbine is too strong.. the whole piece of foam will be sucked in..

that's the experience that my friend got... just beware.... change them when it's about to break.

I'd say they're about 95% useless right now. You HAVE to oil them, or the filters will NOT catch any dirt. Take them off and oil them asap.

That is correct. About the only thing they will stop going through the intake right now is a large rocky mountain boulder.
