HKS Intakes and smell of Fuel
Lately I have upgraded my engine with new HKS intakes and even a dwonpipe.
From that time onwards I began smelling a faint smell of fuel but only some times when I boost. The fuel smell is not strong just that much that you notice is for a second.
I talked of this with my specialist. We checked everything related to the fuel but no leaks were found. Then he asked me if I began smelling it after the new mods. I said yes.
His answer was that propably I was smelling the rebreathed fuel vapors from the tank which are sucked from it to be burned in the engine. Since the stock filter was a box the vapors used to be trapped there but now they are escaping from the new HKS Intake filters after the boosting.
Opinions guys? Should I let it rest or investigate further?

Have you checked for exhaust leaks? I had a bad fuel smell under boost that turned out to be a shot main cat to cat-back gasket.
Also, make sure all your intercooler couplers are sound - that could also be a culprit.

Exhaust has been checked more then once when I replaced the pre cat with the down pipe. Gaskets have also been changed and even sealed further with instant gasket.
I will check on the intercooler but I believe they were substituted to new ones.

BTW, you should NEVER use gasket sealer on exhaust gaskets. That creates a point of failure - the sealer blows out and you have a leak. Just two clean, flat surfaces and a good stock gasket, and you're good to go.
Check the aluminum check valve as Mahjik recommended. Also, the check valve in the vacuum line to the brake booster can fail and give you a gas smell under boost.
