Very bad idea to use it with the FD.

Explain Rynberg or show us where to read about it. You can't just say don't and leave us hangin!....That's a teaser!! ( I've heard this before as well, but noone had an explanation then either) Does it conflict with the ECU or something?

All the HKS fuel-cut defenser does is tell the ecu that you are running a lower level of boost than you are. So, if you are hitting 10 psi, the ecu thinks you are only hitting 5 psi, for example. Since the FD ecu uses fuel/ignition maps that depend on the boost level, you are essentially running the wrong fuel/ignition maps at all levels of boost.

The FCD works with an FC because the FC uses a mass-airflow meter for fuel maps, instead of relying on a boost reading. Therefore, the only thing you are changing with the FC is the fuel cut-off point and not the fuel/ignition maps.

So in otherwords, DON'T use it on an FD. For chrissakes, go buy a friggin $400 Pettit or M2 ecu! If you can't afford that, then leave your friggin' car alone!

Easy does it boy!! Down, Down!!. It was only a question. I understand how it works just fine for the FC. I have only heard people say don't with the FD and wouldn't since it already has fuel cut at a higher point than needed to run safely. ( Not to mention that my car is already full standalone crapola PFC , soon to be haltech.Single turbo etc..., Just take a deep breath and relax for chrissakes)The question was more for an informative explanation from someone that is relativly knowlegdable about the reasons why, So that there are not a million more posts asking the same question. Sorry to have inconvenienced you.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, my last paragraph was more meant to those people who are trying to ghetto-mod their FDs and not to yourself...the basic problem of the internet is that emotion is often hard to discern...
