For as many tuners like Power FC for its price, and ease of use, there are tuners that like the HKS Units.

The HKS Unit is hands down a more powerful unit. The Power FC is not as powerful, but it works great for a single map street car.
Never did I say the HKS unit was inferior. Its common sense a 32x32 table ecu is far more powerful than a 20x20 table ecu(or whatever the Power FC is plus the processor inside the HKS is faster). I wish I wouldve kept my AP Engineering Power FC in my FC3S over my Haltech E11 which is way more powerful. Ive just experienced problems with Haltech and had nothing but great reliable results with my Apexi Power FC ecu in my FD. I honestly dont think you will have any problems with a HKS or Apexi electronic product in the end though.

Whether the F-con V-pro is good software or not, the hush hush, closed nature of japanese tuning products (V-pro but also the PFC before the Datalogit came out) is killing their market share. Cobb has already wiped them up with all the new car models. You think anyone is going to rock a V-pro on their R35 GT-R when Cobb has software in English?

32x32 maps and 20x20 maps doesn't make a difference in performance.
The performance depends on a tuner who sets up

Power FC

good Reasonable, easy to change data, meataring oil pump function, idling stability.

bad when injectors upgraded, fuel map compensation gets inaccurate bad dwell angle data adjustment

F-con Vpro 3.24

good all the data are accurate, especially upgraded injectors data are perfect writing software is best 4 channel coil function available

bad software isn't easy to get (I've seen an English software in Malaysia) Much harder to set up, especially idling map(F-con Vpro 3.3 gets better) No metaring oil pump function. Expensive, especially wiring harneses

Up to 400HP with stock twin turbos, Power FC is better
More than 400 HP with big turbo and big injector, F-con V pro 3.3 is good.

I'm using MoTeC M2R and F-con V-pro 3.3. the performance is all the same.
