Hks F-con ??

Was wondering if anyone is using an HKS F-CON on their 3rd gen and what they think about them. I know that a bunch of TII folks use them but havent heard anyone talk about them on a 3rd gen.

I used to run it and it worked good for what I had but when I went single I needed something that I could tune. The f-con is just a piggyback computer thats very limited but it works good with the stock fuel injectors.

When I was searching for an aftermarket ecu for my auto I ran into a couple of threads where people used the f-conn and loved it. If you have a manual why not just buy the pfc, as it has a lot more support here on the forums and their are alot more tuners for it.

The HKS unit was offered to me for free, basically just wondering iof it would be worth the effort of hooking it up or not. Prices on the PFC are getting cheaper but not free yet

I had the HKS F-Con. It was ok for its time, but then again its older technology and its only a piggyback. I believe it only richens up the fuel but it can't change the timing. Anyway I ditched it right away and got a Apexi PFC. I recommend getting a full stand alone, they are definetaly worth it!

The HKS F-Con Pro from what I'm been hearing from the guys at Protek is the sh*t! But about twice the price of the PFC.

I had a F-CON. It made my car run rich. Because I was concerned with carbon build up I only used for a few months.

Mycar has been running a HKS F-con for about 2 years with HKS filters, apexi avcr and cat bypasses and it runs loverly, i perchased a HKS gcc to go with it so i can dial out unwanted running probs. guess you should invest in a wideband 02 and a egt if ya gonna make it perm and yes its better than stock ecu if its free but me like many are saving up for a PFC.
