that same thing happened to me!!!! I too have the HKS carbon ti.
i came out of a resturant and noticed that my exhaust was hanging kinda low... my braket broke in the same place. if you look you will notice that the welds that are on there are not the best. i had mine welded about 3-4 mo ago, and its been fine.

Why not J-B Weld? Just kidding.. I would weld it for u this weekend but can't afford a gas weld kit til after christmas.. On a possitive note, I just bought a dremel.. for misc. projects AND for the polishing of misc. engine parts..

Yea It happen to me 3 times.. (first time) it broke ..I get it welded but then it (2nd time)broke at a different location .... and then I bought a brand new hanger from HKS and (3rd time) it broke...

I gave up on this exhaust .. and have different exhaust now..

I think the HKS hanger for the CF/Ti exhaust is a defect..

btw.. my friend that also had this exhaust .. broke also..

mine broke recently too...a new one is $70 + shipping...i got mine rewelded for $25. (don't know if that's cheap or expensive, but at least it's cheaper than getting another one that just might fail again). The guy rewelded the broken halves back together, then used a strip of stainless steel metal and welded that on top as reinforcement. I also wanted him to cut and weld the actual hanger so that the exhaust would hang a little higher. That was one of my biggest complaints when i first got the exhaust...it hung too low...IMO it didn't look right. the guy cut off an inch on each side and welded it back together...now it hangs at the perfect height.

Would the stock bracket mount the exhaust right..? If so, why not weld that onto it?

i think your thinkin about it worng mike

the Ti has a bracket that wraps around the canister

at the top of that bracket (top center of canister) is where they weled the other half of the bracket

thats where it fails, such a small spot weld

i welded mine, i just put a thick bead on top and inside (grinded off the excess in the inside)

hope that helps
