HKS EVC5 Worth the extra money?
Currently the car is sitting waiting for a boost controller. Current performance mods are hks intake, apext gt spec exhaust and rx7store.net dp. Anyways I have been doing alot of research on the forums and it seems almost everyone runs the greddy profec b wether it be 1 or 2 spec. Some also run the blitz sbc or avc-r. My question is the hks evc 5 worth the extra cash, I like it better than the HKS ez 2, and the evc 5 can be had for around $300 off of the forums or ebay. I read somewhere on here that it may have problems controlling boost creep, any truth to this? My main reason I want this controller is that it came HIGHLY reccomended from some highly respectable members. I was thinking about the avc-r but it seems to complicated to use. So any expirence with hks evc 5 would be great appreciated, and how you mounted it would also be helpful. Also how difficutly was it to set up, are the instructions straight foward? Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated.

No personal experience with the HKS unit, but personally, I think all of those "advanced" boost controllers are a big waste of money for 99% of FD drivers. A Profec Type-S has a power button, a lo/hi boost switch, a Gain **** (to adjust sharpness of wastegate response), and a boost adjust **** for lo and hi boost. That's it. Simple to use, simple to setup, and reliable. What more do you need?
