How are you trying to put the pipe in the car? You'd probably have more success lifting the car off the ground and feeding the downpipe from underneith.

As 1revvin7 said, let's have some pics. And yeah RHD Turbo stuff sucks.

The only way it will fit is if the DP looks all crumpled up at the very top. If your piping is nice and round the entire length than you might as well sell it.

I don't think you *need* to replace the DP on rhd cars because, unless I'm mistaken, the did not come with the pre-cat (that's an America only thing).

i did feed the down pipe in from the bottom it is bolted to the turbos and completely on but when i put the steering column back on when ever you turn the wheel parts of the steering column hit the downpipe really hard and i have the hks downpipe which is skinny at the top cause its supposedly for rhd 7s

and i'll try to get some pics up soon

its actually not that hard, but it is an tight fit,
what you do is remove the ypipe and airfilter.
and make shure the steering rack bolt'/nt is facing up(to make more room)
the you take out your jack an put it between the lim and the strut, that will give you the extra inch you need to mount it(dont aply to much force though)

Well I've about hit the limit of my ability to help in this thread, but what I can tell you is that you wouldn't get an LHD downpipe to fit at all. The fact that you are able to get both ends attached before running into problems is a sure sign that you have an RHD downpipe.

Are your engine mounts bad causing the engine to be just slightly lower? If it was higher just a bit do you thing that would make it clear?

its fairly new i don't think they would be bad but it is always a possibility but i'm not so sure that if the motor was high it would help

Im not sure what make my DP is, but it is a 3.5". I had to unbolt my steering rack to get it past the top lobe. Kind of a PITA to torque all the bolts down, i had to use a 1/4" torque wrench for the bottom two.

Just save yourself the hassle and get a single turbo.

Yes, it's a fact that the stock RHD downpipe does not have a precat.

Besides, a precat would never fit on that car if you think installing an HKS downpipe is hard, you should see how big precats are.

Yeah, post pics of what you have.. Most likely you dont have the actual HKS downpipe made for RHD. I have one and it fits perfectly.. I will post up pics if you like..

the top half of the hks downpipe i have on my rhd is cast. about 14-18" after the cast part it has a 3" tube connected to it that runs down the rest of the way under the car. it fits snug, but has about 1" of clearance from the steering rod.

loosen the motor mounts, put a jack under the car and jack it up from the gearbox. Once the egines lifted an inch or two it *should* go in from underneath, with some wiggling and head scratching..

Anyone got those pics then?! I was just wondering if the HKS downpipe is actually branded HKS anywhere? As mine has no markings on it at all... Thanks, Jason

Just for the record he's in mexico right now which is why he's not posting and he also ended up putting the stock DP back on it...my only guess is his DP was just an HKS knockoff?
