All the grounds on my 1993 FD were oxidized. I cleaned them all up with a 3M Scotch-brite (emery cloth residue rusts), followed-up by some anti-oxidizing electrical paste (e.g., Penetrox by Burndy), and all is well.

IMHO, when you install a NEW grounding kit, all the connections are nice and fresh, hence the better improvement. Alternators already have voltage and spike regulators.

Alternators already have voltage and spike regulators, and a battery already acts like a capacitor for voltage smoothing.

If someone sends me a sample, I can have it dyno tested when I do dyno tuning next time.

Question

Hello, is this the A'PEXi equivalent:
A'PEXi SUPER GROUND SYSTEM (GROUND WIRE+VOLTAGE CONTROL)

Curious if anyone would have some experience with the A'PEXi unit or heard of some reviews?

Thanks!
Edgardo

I have the Apex ground kit and it looks basically the same as the BuddyClub and Sun Auto units. It connects in parallel with the battery and comes with three wires of differing length to run to the engine, alternator and firewall ground. I assume it just has two capacitors for filtering in the box but there might be more (I havent opened it up to see if there is actually an active circuit in there). There is no way to feel 5 hp on the street, but it seemed that the throttle response in the midrange felt better...maybe a placebo effect he he. The only reason I bought it was since I got it new from a friend dirt cheap, and I wasnt expecting anything, but there are dynos floating around apparently showing gains.

I wonder if it impedes (hurts) things like Gtech-Pro's and Turbo Timers, that sense RPM via the High Frequency noise that's generated by the spark discharge !? Since it's now filtered out !?

I was wondering what you do with these kit's if you have relocated your battery to the rear passenger bin? Are these systems still a possibility?
