The highest boost i can run
I have ifini twins, a ported motor, Apexi air intake and a Racing beat cat back but im also installing a highflow cat and an HKS downpipe so whats the mighest boost i can run without totally screwing things up?

As far as I know none of those mods really allow you to run a higher boost persay. You need to upgrade your fuel system and get an aftermarket ECU to accomplish running higher boost without problems.

DDagman, Guitarjunkie brings up a great point. Boost is not necessarily a bad thing, but you've got to tune the rest of your system to compensate for it. If you don't own an aftermarket ECU and a wideband O2 sensor, don't even think about increasing the boost.
GUITARJUNKIE28, while I agree with you (boost doesn't kill motors, poor tuning kills motors), he asked about increasing his boost, so people have responded by saying "don't do it!!" Since you're bringing up tuning, I'd personally like to hear any advice you're willing to offer.

the efini turbos are a little better than the stock twins.... and if that max safe psi on it is 14...... what other TWIN turbos are there.... i know that there are the BNRs... but what else?

the later, upgraded turbos ('efini' is plain wrong, btw) are actually thought to be *less* reliable under higher, sustained boost than the original turbos. Certainly not worth the extra cash unless you can get a good deal on them. You would be mad to upgrade to them if there was nothing wrong with your originals.

because of the volume that they were produced in. Look at the USDM Production numbers, and then look at the numbers for the rest of the world, where, correct me if I'm wrong, all FD's were sold under the name "Efini".

99 spec twins are an upgrade because they are more efficient. I don't think that they can withstand much more boost, but you're getting more volume per psi, which is what gives you more power.

you're wrong - efini was used as a brand only to 97. Therefore all upgraded turbos (those used in the '280ps' versions), which started in dec 98, are not 'efini' in any way.
these days, the upgraded turbos, for some reason, are actually slightly cheaper from mazda japan.
