high flow cat question

Hey everybody, I have a JDM FD. It already has a downpipe and exhaust. I failed emissions so I'm considering buying a high flow cat. I need to know if US spec cats will fit on a RHD drive car.
I'm currently looking at the cats being sold in RX7.com and RX7store.net. Any help would be appreciated.

I would try to figure out what caused you to fail the smog test first, i.e. loose vaccum lines, or faulty air pump. Hi-flow's are great, but if it's not the cat causing the problem, you'll be in the same predicament, only with $300 less in your wallet.

As far as fitment goes, I believe they are the same as the LHD FD's. The only difference is the DP to allow the steering column.

Thanks guys. I took out my airpump last year and used the air pump elimination kit because it stopped working. I took a chance but I guess I need it now. Thanks VegasFD, I'll start looking around for a used one. If it still fails, then I'll buy the high flow cat.

Yes I know I'm dumb rynberg for pulling it out but the air pump was dead and the guy who did my emissions hooked me up last year but this wasn't the case this year. Looking for one right now as a matter of fact.

I thought the airpump just sent air out that emissions port on the back of the engine and into the pipe that goes to the precat. Does it send fresh air elsewhere? I have a dp and am considering leaving that port open to air because if it is the only place the airpump can send air to, the back pressure will ruin the pump after a while.

The airpump supplies the ACV....and has a feed to the main cat, NOT the pre-cat. Putting a downpipe on will have zero effect on anything having to do with the air pump.
