I have 2 sets of HJS cats for one of my cars (1 set bolts up to the stock 'sport exhaust' and the other just to straight pipes).

The HJS cars are fantastic, ZERO smell, much louder than stock. Apparently very durable.

They still offer some back pressure that can limit MAX power as demonstrated by many examples on the Porsche forums.

I went with the HJS cats for the increased noise / improved tone, and if there are any gains that is a bonus. Price of catalytic convertors has skyrocketed with pre-fabbed 'kits' almost doubling in price over the last 2 years.
