Smile Hi guys - Noob alert :)

Hey guys, 1st of all, I hope this is the right section. If not then I apologise!

I just thought I would introduce myself! 1st of all my name is Jordon and I am 23 and I'm in the UK. I used to have a 2.2 Honda Prelude VTEC but it got written off in some floods we had last year

I then got myself an Audi A3 2.0 TDi.

Finally I part exed this in on Monday for a 92 Mazda RX7 (hence the reason I am here lol)

I am sure I will be asking for help some time in the near future hehe.

Just a couple of pics:

Only got a few plans for her at the moment. Full exhaust system, New intercooler, induction upgrade etc...

P.S I haven't got a lot of knowledge at all on rotary engines. I just know I need to keep an eye on the oil and servicing. Anything else to look out for??

Cheers guys

you bought it? it was on ebay for something like 7k? i seen it it was there foir ages and noone wanted to buy it(dont know why tho) if i was you i would take it to someone who knows rotaries and do a full engine check mate, this car was shipped from japan and you dont know if it would take any upgrades(or maybe you do?)

as to the upgrading - i would start here:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...1?post=2819723

+

do not forget you own a rotary=fragile but very powerful engine its not honda mate(i had one too) and it needs to be looked after..

lol, yeah, it says coupe. That will be coming off later (I didn't put it on!!)

So what would you guys recommend as decent reliable upgrades? It needs a new exhaust regardless as it is blowing and also really rusty

you bought it? it was on ebay for something like 7k?
Yeah but I got a really good deal on my Audi for it in Part ex. I probably got more in the part ex than if I had sold it private

It is a mazdaspeed kit and thanks for the pics. Seems mad that they are also yellow lol, The 1st one with the white wheels looks really smart!

I am going to be getting a full service on her when I next get payed, just to be on the safe side. I have a rotary specialist not too far away from me that I will take it to.

The main thing that I could do with help on is to know what to check on a regular basis and what to actually look for? I know I need to check the oil regularly but is there anything else?

appreciate the help guys. I am glad to be on a orum with guys that know their s**t on Rotaries

Welcome to the club Jordon! Where abouts in the UK are you located? You'd be best to hook up with other, local, owners when it comes to planning/installing upgrades and learning your way around the engine bay. Not to mention all the other 7 owners I've met in the UK have been top notch.

What shop are you planning on taking your car to? Have you seen/registered on www.fduk.org/forum and/or www.MazdaRotaryClub.com yet? They both have a large base of owners in the UK, probably some just down the road from you, and will provide a great (local) source of information about your vehicle.

Hi Jordon!

Nice Car, Welcome to the Club.

Probably the most popular cat back exhaust is the Racing Beat model, but there are tonnes to choose from.

I'm currently fitting a full SMB exhaust, the system is well made and has good feed back, company is very helpfull too, but has to be shipped from Australia.

http://www.smb.net.au/index.htm

And like Fendamonkey mentioned above, register yourself on the other RX-7 forums as well. Your more likely to get local help on those if you need it.

Andrew.

Wow, thanks Fendamonkey and Andrew. Realy appreciate it

Well I foun d out today on another forum that the specialist I wanted to go to no longer exist They were in Doncaster (I am in Barnsley, South Yorkshire). The only other one I can find is in Cheshire which is just uner 60miles away so may have to go to them.

I will join some of the other forums and see if I can meet up with any local guys/gals. That would be great.

I have been installing some new door speakers today and all I can say is what a pain in the backside?!! I had to do quite a lot of modding to the original speaker inserts but managed to get them in Installed a nice double DIN dvd unit yesterday aswell that has bluetooth so the hands free aspect is a nice touch

Again, I appreciate the help guys

I'm not. Basically it came with a single DIN CD player but just had a gap on top of it. I couldn't find anything to go in the gap to fill it like an adaptor plate so I got the Double Din instead. A lot of people put the double DIN's in Jap cars. Its not to make it look like a BMW?!

P.S if I had wanted a BMW I would have got one

Pip at WGT (the shop in Cheshire) is very well known in the UK for his knowledge of the Rotary engine. Go to him, you'll be in good hands!

fwiw, I travel from Cambs down to Portsmouth for all my mapping and big installs. Having a bit of a drive is well worth it to get quality work done on these cars. Trust Pip, based off his reputation you can't go wrong with him.

Thats the one. A guy on one of the other forums I go on (not a car forum) said that pip is one of the best in the UK with Rotary engines. I want to get a major service done soon so will take it down to him for that and his prices don't look too bad
