Those IP addresses mean nothing... both already said they were both in SoCal, so that probably explains the first two sets matching up, but there are 256 different numbers that could go in the third set and they don't match, much less the fourth set. Not only that, but even if they were on the same server, you've gotta take the subnet mask into account too... looking at these two IP addresses, it should be obvious that not only are they not the same person, they aren't even on the same network...

basically, I think the guy was either trying to prove or disprove that they were the same person. If they were trying to disprove it they succeeded.

Either the same person or they live very close.

Only if they've broken it down to a 26 bit mask or more. That's a big assumption. I'm on a 24 bit mask. It all depends on the area and what they're using on the back end. And actually, there are 254. You have to take into account the network and broadcast IP. 9 outta 10 times, it's going to be a class C address, so the third octet will match.

Given the IP addresses that are given, and the location, there's a huge probibility that they are the same...just leased a new IP. Of course, to confirm look at IP addresses of the two from posts made at the same time. On top of that though, he could have statically assigned IP addresses making this possible. If they are dynamic, that decreases the chances of him being the same unless he's then at two different locations.

I think some people have WAY to much time on their hands! I think we already know they are the same person, no reason for a complete backround check on them! lol

I guess i'll add my .02 though...I'd say rotorboy made a second name to make himself look good as a seller/buyer. If you look in the good guy/bad guy section, you'll see that there a several threads about bad transactions with him. That would explain the whole selling/buying parts in an hour deal/thread. If "she" praised him, then more people would feel comfortable doing business with him. His mistake was starting this thread. He got caught before "she" could start a thread in the good guy/bad guy section praising him.
