Hey what are some nice rx7 setups?

Hey guys looking for a nice cheap and fast setup for a 93 RX7. Not looking for an 8 second 9 second car setup just something good enough. Probably shooting for low 13's high 12's or so. What are some good setups?

Actually all you'd need are drag radials, and a good clutch...along with great driving.

But I'd go with a catback, downpipe, RB intake duct, and a clutch and flywheel as a safe, effective combo...not to mention cost effective

no, just get an upgraded fuel pump and everything styxx8602 mentioned and then you can turn the boost to 13 maybe 14 psi if you get the unlimited boost ecu from pettit and really want to push it to the max.
Pretty much "great driving" for me at the track would mean have a good launch. I think that is the hardest part and I don't have a problem with and shifts after that. What I do is rev up to 3000 rpms and hold the clutch up just a little so it is not engaging or touching at all but so that it is closer to touching(you don't want to do it to the point where you start to move forward) Then I slowly let up the clutch more and give it more throttle. If I start to burn out I hold the clutch back and give it less gas and so on....

why do you want to keep the stock cat-back? I guarantee if you put on a RB dual-tip, you would never look back.

For very low 13s, all you need is downpipe, cat-back, intake, ecu to run 12 psi, and most importantly - driving skill.

lol... would you pay for the CB if i don't like it?

seriously though... i do not want any increase in exhaust noise. that's why i want to keep the stock cat back. quiet exhaust is all subjective to the person listening to it. and i am very picky. i already had a loud car before and i definately don't want another one. i'm even hesitant on getting the down pipe but i will just because it's also a reliability mod. i hear the down pipe/mid pipe with stock cat back is quieter than stock and i think i might be willing to try that but no cb systems for me.

no nitrous either... i like having the power on demand 100% of the time.

I didn't want a loud car either. I bought my car with a downpipe and AST as only mods. From what I've heard, a downpipe doesn't really increase the exhaust sound level per se, it just allows you to hear the turbos spooling easier (a very cool sound). When I added the RB cat-back, I was at first disappointed because it really didn't sound any louder than stock (I was looking for a little level increase). Then I rolled the windows down. The exhaust is a bit louder than stock, maybe 6 dB on acceleration, 10 dB on throttle close (you get to love this too). I will tell you though that there is no droning and the exhaust is still dead silent at pure cruise.

But no I wouldn't pay you back if you didn't like it. However, I guarantee you could easily sell it for close to what you paid for it. Those exhausts are on constant back-order. Demand is high. I waited three months for mine.

the louder the better? that's cause you never sat in my other car. i was so sick and tired of not being able to hear all the music without having to turn up the volume. yeah it was nice when it comes time to race but you get tired of it after a while. after getting this car i just fell in love with how quiet things can be. even my winter car (dodge neon - all stock) is loud to me now. lol. and i'm not doing a lot of work on this car. learned my lesson with the other car. lost too much money with aftermarket parts. only very simple bolt ons will go on the rx7.

Because some of us actually like to be able to think while driving. Or listen to the stereo. So many of you are going to have such bad hearing damage when you're older. Louder, bigger, etc. isn't always better. Sometimes (most times), it's just more.
