GA Hey guys, I need help with housings!

Ok i have a 93 rx7 with a bad rear apex seal(0psi reading) so im thinking that one seal took out the other 2 and i have a feeling that because of that my housing is toast...The thing i need to know is,i have a friend that has a good FRONT s5 turbo housing that he will give me for free......So can i use a front s5 house on my rear rew????Ohhhh and a front turbo rotor as a rear?thanks

I am no expert on the subject but I believe the exhaust ports are in different positions and or the timing is different between s5 housings and REW housings. If I am correct the answer to your question would be no you cannot use the housing.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I love new info.

Its just the S4 and earlier housings that are different.

ok so the s4 are different but the s5 and rew are the same right?samething with the rotor BUT can you use a front housing as a rear?

First you are going to have a water jacket that need to be blocked. http://www.banzai-racing.com/faq_housings_ID.htm

If you are not worried about emissions the front and rear housings are interchangeable.

Front and rear rotors are the same, you must be aware of the weight code and the oil control springs will need swap sides.

For clarification of early posts, the exhaust ports are in the same positions, it is the spark plugs that are in different locations on the S4.
