Here's one for you. problems with 3k rev up.

Cranking the car out of gear no longer activates the rev up. I've tried this for the past months and can not get it to work.

In cold weather I can crank it in gear and and when the motor catches it goes to 2k and then down 1.5k in about 1/2 sec..it sounds as if the motor is going to stall when it is on its way down to 1.5k. Once it's there it seems erie because it happens so fast.

The idle also misses a bit and I get the rich gas smell from the tail. The car runs purrfect once warm and seem to drive real nice..lots of power. So if I adjusted some screws on the TB to clean up the idle(which ones) wouldn't this affect the performance of the car when it is warmed up and was running right.

Thanks...Scott

Mine hardly ever does the 3K warm up. It acts similar to what you described. I don't see that there is a problem.

My AWS is a little finicky too. Although, it has worked everytime lately if I put the car into neutral before I insert the ignition key. Most of the time, I just start the car in gear though to disable the AWS. It revs at about 1500 rpm.

Mine rarely worked that way.I hated that aws and I think my neighbors did to! So I just eliminated it like so many others.

I don't like it or use it either, it just pisses me off when things are suppose to work and they don't. There has to be a reason why it stopped working and why my idle is the way it is.

Well my AWS started working again. Really off and on no.

Does anythng associated with the UIM or the TB controll the AWS or is it strictly ECU.

As far as the car starting and idling right, last night I started it up and it reved to 2k came down and died.
It was dark so I didn't really noticed any smoke. I then started it again and it caught and idled rough for a bit.

It also bucks in 5th when I let off the gas @ around 40-60MPH.

Compression is good and the coolant seals are fine as well. Could this be due to running rich? has anyone experienced this?

Thanks..Scott

Disregard my question about the AWS I found that the solenoid valve under the UIM controls it.

Those that hate the AWS (like me), why don't you just blip the gas pedal the instant the engine catches? I do that & it instantly idles at about 1100rpm.
