Here we go again.....
Alright can someone please tell me possible causes for this. I am really hoping for a simple answer since it is now driving season. My first guess is people are going to say a turbo leak..... sigh worried! See picture, what are possible reasons for oil around this area (it drips and make my engine bay smoke, which is never fun!) *eyes sparkle with hope*..... so you mean this might no be a bad problem at all and just a crappy seal? blah mixed feelings, hoping its not bad, but I for some reason always think of the worst outcomes and am fairly worried

This is a pretty common problem on FDs. It is unlikely to be serious.

For some reason I was thinking this tube was supposed to be dry and no oil, maybe I am thinking something else. So buy a new silicone seal and I should be ready to rock? Now is this something common for any automotive shops and what not or more specialty/online?

get the efini y-pipe and then report back, your turbos may be on the way out and that could be the reason for the oil there, is there more oil in the intercooler piping?

The coupler is split. Should the hose/line be dry and not have oil, yes, in a perfect world. However, you likely have two things happening, the factory PCV design allows some oil from the "crank case" to get sucked into the primary turbo basically using the intercooler as an oil catch can. If it is a large amount of oil it is likely the turbos showing their age and that is also really common on these cars. Replace the coupler with a new or get the efini ypipe and call it a day. Either way fix it asap unless you want to risk fire.

They are having a sale right now. Also get some T-bolt clamps to replace those unreliable worm type hose clamps you currently have on there.
As for size, I think its 3". You can remove and measure to confirm.

Alright interesting, maybe just a new clamp is needed upon further inspection in day light. Sorry for the non proper words but when I lift that plastic "elbow? tube?" that connects there, it has about .375-.5" of play, the bottom joint is very loose, but the clamp doesn't appear to tighten more, so I'll try a new clamp first then grab the silicone. Thanks guys!
