help with wire harness

I know there are many threads on this. I am changing out motors and I need to remove the wire harness. Whats the best way? Do I have to remove the UIM? If there is a thread maybe just point me with the right search words. Thanks

You have to remove more than just the UIM. You have to get all the way to the CAS sensors. You'll also have to get under the car to disconnect and reconnect the connections on the transmission.

Then that only changes the transmission part.

I got a JDM (Yea I know I was advised not to go JDM, But due to $$$ and time It is the best for me)The plug is cut. I still have my USDM engine for hopes of rebuilding and having one engine ready to go "just incase". So I want to pull JDM harness and put USDM on and plop it back in car.

That's doable as long as the JDM has similar year components to the US. i.e. if it has the solenoid "box" rather than the solenoid rack, you're going to have issues.

Cjecked out the service manual. To know if I have rack or box on the JDM I peeked under the UIM on the Jdm It looks like there are more hoses than the USDM is what I am looking for? Also looking from the rear of the engine There are 5 ire plugs in a row and on the JDM there are 3 one missing than one more.Is thet the EGr?

For the solenoid rack, you would expect this under the UIM:

Not this:

As far as the plugs, check this:

Yea, that's what you need. The US harness will plug right up (except for the AWS and EGR).

Well, the worse case scenario is that you pull off the components from your other engine and put them on the JDM engine. That's what I did with the JDM engine I bought:

JDM engine on the pallet:

JDM engine ready for install (and then installed):
