Help w/boost prob or recommend a good shop near me.
I just bought my car about a month ago with a blown motor. (93 touring) I put a new motor in it and now it doesn't boost correctly. The pattern is like 10psi to 4500rpm then it drops straight to about 6psi and then bleeds down to 5 by redline in 3rd. In neutral, WOT shows 0psi... I'm looking for either suggestions as to a fix or suggestions to a reputable shop near me. I live in Suffolk, VA which is in SE VA... Any help would be great. Thanks.

racist?
come on man...thats stereotyping...I'm not racist, I just like to hunt and ride four wheelers and I also happen to be the proud new owner of a FD who needs some help...I hunt with 3 black guys out of a club of 15, by the way.

that sounds like a TCA solenoid that is mounted on the lower intake manifold. You need to take off the UIM and check it out. It's the only one with the shield around it and it's mounted on the Air control valve.

"If you are getting a solid 6 psi from 4,500 RPM up, Check the electrical connections to these two solenoids[Wastegate and Turbo Pre-Control Solenoids], as they can get mixed up while working on the engine. From the front of the car, the right hand solenoid and the electrical connector of the engine electrical harness have a painted white dot, these two go together. Note that over time these painted white dots tend to dissapear. :If you are getting a solid 6 psi from 4,500 RPM up, Check the electrical connections to these two solenoids, as they can get mixed up while working on the engine. I'm a CF and poop smith
that is kinda the same boost curve i was getting like a week ago
i was over boosting to 12-14psi though before 4.5k
i fixed it by redoing my vaccum hoses (i pretty much hook everything up to stock, my secondary bov was tied in to my primary for some weird *** reason)
