Help! Troubleshooting No Spark Symptoms
Help! Troubleshooting No Spark Symptoms
Oh lord! This car is driving me insane. After installing the rebuild I come to find out I am getting no spark at all when grounded. What I do know it was working A okay before engine removal and 1) the wiring harness on the drivers side that connects to the alternator, coilpacks, battery and starter is 100% good, 2) The coil packs are 100% good 3) The ignitor is 100% good 4) ignition swith is 100% good. 5) crank angle sensors 100% good. All these parts were in 100% working order when removed and I know for sure it isn't any of these parts. All fuses are good includine engine 15A.
I am getting power to the ignitor connections all three plugs top and bottom wire, that connect to all packs, but no spark is produced. The wire underneath the pack is grounded to the block. Also the the single wire for the coil packs that connects to the shield wires of the coil pack plugs is grounded. Thats the thing also, I do not understand why there is shield wire for the coil pack connections, what is the point of grounding it if its just shield wire???
The only three possible things I can think that may have happened 1) is the ecu may have not been connected right, well the only wire that wasn't connected is a little black with yellow stripe wire, as there is no were to plug it into, and I don't recall it ever had been. Everything else plugged in 2) It is not getting ground somewhere. The driver side wiring harness is grounded at 3 points A) The battery B) the bolt under the engine fuse box C) on the engine block where the power steering bolts to the engine. 3) The crank angle sensor wire may have got pulled out or broke off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I will be continuing this quest tommorrow.
