help please, Engine idle funny
I am new to here, I got my 7 about 5 month ago.
Starting 2 days ago, I leave the clutch pushed and put it in first gear, If I don't step on the gas, then my car just keep idle really low( between 1000 to 200 rpm), like it is going to shut off any time (I didn't release the clutch yet, just keep it puched all the way). But if I let the cultch go and leave it in Neutrual, then it is idle about 1500 rpm, like it is normally does. Does anyone know why it is doing that?
Does it mean I have a leak in the Vacumm H, or my trasmittion is about to be gone? I know that I have a small leak in the tranny, but it shouldn't matter too much, rite?
Thanks for all the help!!!!!

just curious...
If the idle drops when the clutch is depressed, why does the engine care?... if anything i'd expect an idle increase with less load there.
Is there some RPM monitoring stuff in the transmission that feeds back to the engine computer? or is it an engine load compensation that throws off the fuel mix?
Just odd, trying to figure out all the systems mazda uses in the RX.

If I remember correctly....
My car did that before....
Was a signal that your CLUTCH is going out.
Roll along in 5th gear and punch it..
See if yoru clutch is slipping...
after you get clutch fixed, problem probably
will go away...

Thanks
Thanks guys, I think it is my clutch switch. I am going to fix that, and get a pic of my 7 on the board.
And I think my clutch is bad, I will see what happens after I replace the clutch, thanks
