help please car idles at 5000 rpms

i recently took off my intake manifold(1st time) to get it polished + installed the greddy elbow and intercooler pipes. when i started my car it makes horrible noises and idles a 5 grand . i think i hooked up all the hoses right except the top left of the manifold where the hose from the bov connect, theres two nipples one for the bov and the other i cant find any hose to connect there and dont remeber if anything was there when i took it apart. also i didn't weld a nipple on the greddy elbow just put on a cap on the end that comes from the manifold . also i'm not sure if i put the throtle cable on correctly but dont know if this would rev the car to 5000. sorry for the long post - thanks

ok,i found the missing hose on top of the manifold - it was the boost gauge vacuum hose, now the car idles at 3000 rpms and still makes a horrible high pitch noise. would switched electrical connectors under the manifold do this ?? thanks

hmmm, make sure the throttle cable is not the cause, also there is a adjustment screw on the front of the throttle body, lossen that all the way and see if you still get this....

it could be your throttle position sensor. try this http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/TPS_adjustment.html

also make sure no part of the throttle mechanism is getting caught on something, like a hose or tie wrap.
