3d gen without turbos
Hey guys , my first post to this forum ,
however ive been lurking for about a year now.
Bought my 3d gen about 10 month ago with 81 k miles .
Got it at a good price but with a little oil leak .
And i was more than ready for tecnical probelms ,
after reading this list for a fiew month i knew i would have to do the right of pasage sort of thing
So after a fiew weeks of driving it , i coudnt
resist and started taking things apart , after a
fiew weeks i had the engine out and was ordering rebuild kits and all of that .
So after 4 - 5 months of placing about 6 7 orders
( i am new to this , my first car and ive never worked on cars so i was taking it easy )
i had everything back together and to my surprise it was runing hehe.
Idle was a bit high ,around 1100-1300 ( i dont think it was an air leak,
but probably something i adjusted on the trottle body while it was all apart )
but i was able to drive it for about 400 miles before the secondary turbo went and primary wasnt in good shape eather .
So now i am out of money for a bit and i still would like to drive the 7 .
I have been able to take out both of the turbines and patch those holes inside the cartriges with a long bold and a fiew good washers ,
and now the car is runing with an even higher idle 1400 -1500 and
after it warms up it might start reving up even higher .
Could this be because i messed up the balance in the exaust preasure vs intake vacume by removing the turbines ? or could it be something else ,
or am i crazy for even thinking about this ?
