...well...hate to say it, how long have you had the engine in it? Mine did that before the Coolant seal went. came home, was not to hot of a day, then saw all of my coolant on teh ground. If there is a small crack in teh coolant seal, look for white smoke on startup.

If its in the general area of the passanger side oil cooler, my guess would be either a crack in one of the radiator tanks (If its still stock), or in one of the hoses. I suggest doing a pressure test on it and get to the bottom of things before it leads to larger problems.

The coolant overflow tank is on that side. Could be as simple as an overfilled tank, cracked tank or hose to it.

get it looked at by a rotary specialist in your area. it could be real bad or it could just be a simple problem. do NOT take it to the dealer.

no white smoke, engine starts on first turn and runs perfect!
i was thinking of an over filled tank but i drove it home the day before like 300 miles..
theres only 30k on new reman i will do a comp test on the cooling system, i though it was a crack but than it should always leak correct? or am i wrong...? what causes a system to over-pressurize?

You should check or replace the hose that goes from the air separation tank (AST) to the overflow tank (it is not difficult to replace). If this hose is broken or has a small leak, the system will not be able to pull the coolant back from the overflow tank to the AST as the engine cools down. If this happens, the overflow tank will fill up and then coolant will spill out of it. This will also reduce the amount of coolant in your system as it is always loosing a small amount into the overflow tank and then the add coolant light will come on. This problem is kind of slow and not consistent so one time it might take multiple drives before you get the fill coolant light on and other times it might take less, same with the coolant on the floor.

Good Luck!

I forgot to mention, you should also check the AST tank pressure cap, if the seal is not working properly or the spring is not good anymore it could allow extra coolant to leak out of your system and into the overflow tank.

I was about to start a similar thread, the same thing happened to me yesterday. I went for a quick ride; and like 5-10 minutes after it being shut off, massive amounts of white smoke started to come from my hood, when I opened it their was a small cut in the coolant hose and it was squirting coolant everywhere and there was a puddle underneith the car. I hope its the same thing and its nothing really bad.

Please input your opinion on my problem aswell. Thanks

p.s. I was washing my car when this occured and this could have caused a mixture of the water, heat and coolant; that could have resulted in the smoke. Just a thought.

Finally! just go and replace both caps. Use OEM not cheap local autopart store ones. It's a hit or miss with those...

My car was doing the same thing and replaced my caps several times. It wasn't until I coughed up the bucks and paid for OEM ones that my problem went away.
