Help needed...fuel odor when FD undriven
I have done a search. Here are the symptoms: The FD has sat for a few days without starting. I smell fuel faintly but cannot pinpoint the location. Does this mean the injectors are leaking? I'm guessing that since the fuel system is pressurized, the leaky injector(s) are filling the crankcase with fuel. So now maybe the engine is flooded? I'm afraid to start the car. Am I being stupid? Help!

The FD can have several fuel problems, one I just learned about the other day.
Is the fuel recall done?
FPD, Fuel pulsation damper, this is a semi-common failure, give symptoms of fuel smell while driving. Replacement is labor intensive, part price is $150 from the dealer, ~$79 from Mazdacomp.
Leaky injectors, might cause flooding (won't start). Solution, either buy new injectors or have your old ones serviced at www.rcengineering.com or similar place.
Fuel in the oil. Common on all turbo rotaries. Change oil often.
Fuel smell in general. Ask around for a RX-7 specific shop, one that has done work on 93-95 RX-7s. Injector seals, fuel lines, etc. They all can leak, leaks can lead to a fire, this is VERY, VERY bad when dealing with gas.
I worked on a 93 RX-7 last week, all new fuel hoses, FPD, injector seals, etc. The problem turned out to be bad injectors, this seems to be an uncommon problem. Fuel literally was leaking out of the injector itself with all new seals.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, fuel recall was done. Can anyone add some thought to my theory of leaky injectors? Would a bad FPD cause odor when just siting undriven?

If the car is leaking fuel when it isn't being driven it is also leaking when it is being driven.
Leaky injectors (leaking out the pintle, where the fuel normally comes out) does not fill the "crankcase" with fuel. The fuel will leak into the combustion chamber and stay there until the next startup. Sometimes this is what causes flooding.
