Damn

Figured you guys would be a little more organized over here, considering how many more engines need to be replaced j/k

Over at Twinturbo.net we have a FAQ system setup and everthings archived w/pics.

Guess I'll be doing this pull blindly

its not that big of a deal step by step wise. just remove what needs to be removed (a camera is your friend through this) and pull the motor when its ready...

I realize its not that big of a deal, but with any application, there are shortcuts/tips that everyone's come across. Like I said....I'm going about this blindly. I've never even driven an FD, let alone pulled a motor, however I have lots of DSM/Honda/Nissan experience so I'm just going off my "general" mechanical experience. I notice that alot of people DO NOT remove the transmission during an engine pull as well, which would pretty much mean the DS doesnt need to come down. So far I have all the intake pluming off, PS pump out of the way, AC condenser out of the way, downpipe section removed and the throttle cables removed. We'll see what tomorrow brings

From what I've read, people who don't pull the transmission with the motor regret it when they're putting the motor back in. So maybe you should reconsider. How's that for a tip/trick?

Disconnect the wiring harness from the ECU. Pull the wires through the firewall and take the harness out with the engine.

Make sure you have the oil cooler(s) and radiator disconnected (and the coolant and oil drained).
