Use a compressed air impact gun to remove the pulley; the nut will zip right off.

If you don't have a compressor go buy an airtank and the cheapest made in China impact gun you can find. You should be able to get both for less than $50. Charge the tank up at a gas station to over 100 psi and then take the nut off. It will instantly come off.

This sounds like a job for Harbor Freight!

Find a Cheap *** impact gun and "zip zip" off it goes.

autozone is savoir of me purchasing a air gun. i was able to take the power steering pully with the use of a 17mm socket wrench and a seat belt looking tool. what you do is wrap the seatbelt tool around the nut securing it with a stick provided to give it maximum torque and using the socket wrench to turn in the other direction.

I found an electric impact gun at Sears that has been awesome at doing type of work, it's strong enough to remove flywheel nuts too.

For removing things, I use a Milwaukee electric impact gun. They are capable of something like 300lb-ft and will take off the pulley nuts in a snap. I think they run around $200.

Let me know if you need a pulley, I broke mine before i used an impact gun and had to replace it. I've since gone with the Unorthadox racing aluminum pwr. steering pulley so I have the stocker up for what I paid for it.
