help me name this device.

i have already read how people on here can set their ecu so that the car can not go over certain RPM or speed.

i'm having a hard time trying to remember how to do this and what the method or device is called...

help a brother out. haha.

thanks.

Whell The Apexi Power FC, has a rev limiter you can set.. you can't do it with the stock ecu. not unless you get some other mini computer rev limiter thing that will not even be worth it... why would you need it? unless your droping the car off somewhere and think they might take it for a test run drive

Some aftermarket ignitions allow for multi-step studderbox for launch control and no-lift-to-shift gear selection, but I have no idea how that'd apply in the bike world. Some ECUs feature a "valet mode" which is probably what you're looking for. On my Galant (that has launch control and NLTS), it also has valet mode where the rev limiter is set to 3000 rpm. The only way to clear valet mode is to enter a code. Another neat feature is the anti-theft feature which requires you to enter a code in order to start the car. The only way for a thief to bypass it and start the car is to replace the entire ECU.

Bikes usually get picked up and thrown in the back of a truck when stolen.
