Question help me decide........

heres the situation, i currently own a 92 prelude Si which i did a h22 (vtec) swap on in my driveway. car runs great. stand alone ecu 17" racing rims sticky rubber 370cc injectors all the bolt on's, stiffer suspension, etc etc etc. significantly modded but still very reliable. I am a college student and i park in the parking deck so i have a nice protected spot to park. i am a sophmore and i do have a fairly well paying job. i understand that FD's require a alightly higher degree of maintainance than most cars and i am willing and able to provide this (my dad was a mechanic and working on my certification in a few fields for ***** and giggles). ANYWAY, originally i had intended to keep the lude for a beater/daily driver but i really don't drive that much, just to work and home really so i don't know if i need a beater of that caliber or at all. im wondering if i should sell the lude and get a 7 as my main transportation? would this be a wise decision?

Stick with the lude, it's more reliable.

oh yea, also if i sold the lude i would have a good bit more to spend on the 7 and in mods for it. i just don't know if i can justify 2 sportscars at the age of 20.

If you can do an engine swap, then you have enough mechanical skill to get an FD. Just read up, use the search, and learn more about them before you decide to buy.

It's good to have a beater to drive around, as 'weekend' projects on the 7 always wind up taking longer....ie: weeks

As for having two 'sportscars'... as long as you can pay for them, maintain and drive them responsibly...then nothing should be stopping you

If you own a 7, a beater is practically a MUST! As for 2 sportscars, I'm 20 and neither one of my cars even has a back seat! Check the sig.

LOL. If you can't justify 2 sportscars at the age of 20, when can you justify them?

At age 50?

Life is short. Live it up when you can!

ROFTL!
You guys really crack me up with this kind of "insight".

BTW, engine swap is not as daunting as it sounds - it's actually pretty easy. Ask me how I know.

Only once.

But it's almost like rites of passage in the ownership of an FD along with vacuum hose job, fuel filter change, etc.

If you haven't done these jobs yourself, you are not fully "appreciating" the joys of FD ownership.

Im going to do my first FC engine (GXL) in a few weeks...and then when the FD inevitably goes (again) I'm gonna do it myself.

Aren't you moving to LA pretty soon?

My FD, however, is in NY still and hence this thread
If you need help with engine removal/install, PM me. I am an expert now

Hey wannabe. I say get the FD, but you had best to keep the lude around. You can't get a better daily driver than a Honda. Best of luck to you.
