Help! Lost primary & secondary boost at track!
Hey guys & gals, I'm instructing at Roebling Road, and half-way through my second session, I noticed I didn't have full 10-psi boost anymore.
I checked all hoses, and haven't found any that have blown off.
I also checked the E-clips on each actuator, and they are all on there.
Vaccuum hoses to actuators looks good as well, and so does the hose to the boost sensor.
Typically, when in netural (no load) if I rev the engine quickly to 6500 RPM I would see about 4-5 lbs. I see nothing on the boost gauge.
Boost pattern when driving is a flat 5-lbs, not even 8-lbs.
Intercooler couplers looks good, and hoses to the two (2) relief valves looks good.
According to this: http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm , I need at least 8-lbs of primary boost, before I even tackle the secondary.
I think when I do rev in neutral (no load) I hear a little "whoosh" of air.
Any help would be appreciated, instead of having this track weekend be a bust.
Thanks,
:-) neil

Maybe a long shot but did you check the intercooler hoses? Primarily the lower one? If you do then take it off and squeeze it since if it split the slit is hard to see if you dont actually squeeze the hose.
Good luck with finding the issue.

I removed the lower metal reinforcement (10mm bolt).
I cleaned the stock hose with brake cleaner and "Purple Degreaser" and got it really clean, dry, and oil-free.
Then I took "orange" RTV and just about covered the entire area.
Then I wrapped it TWICE with heavy-duty weatherproof duct tape.
Then I took wrapped the area with "muffler repair" sheet metal (I was going to use an aluminum can, but this looked tougher).
I re-installed the lower metal reinforcement.
Lastly, I used four (4) hose-clamps to hold the metal wrap together, and let the assembly cure for about 10-hrs.
NO MORE LEAKS!

PS: thank God, Advance Auto Parts was open until 9pm on Saturday!
