Help with lauching
Ok, borrowing my friends FD to do some drag racing. I'm used to my 164hp FWD car so I'm not so sure on where to launch this bad boy. Any racing tips would help me alot. I can drive, but just not sure where exactly to shift and launch at. I don't have time to practice on the street with it either.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.... Thanks

Depends on your tires, plus mine launches a little differently every time based on humidity, temperature, and so on. I launch at just a tad under 4K rpms, much more and I'll spin 'em too badly to be useful. Don't just drop the clutch either, you might get axle hop which is of course the enemy. Good luck, don't wreck her, and don't feel bad if you don't get it right, they're kind of hard to launch.

well i'd suggest launching at 3k, or slightly above.
but not over 3500
and when street racing mine, i dropped that clutch,
and get some wheel hop, but i find my launches are actually
really good. My car is(or was..) completely stock,
and i'd jump on pretty much everything, including those LS1 v8 firebird/camaro's
it's just when i'm going.. and have to let go of the gas..
push in that clutch, switch gears, then start going again,
where i loose ground(havent been driving a stick for that long, hehe)
